Is EasyType.link free?

Yes. Making and opening links is free, and you don't need an account.

Why real words instead of random letters?

Words are easy to read aloud, remember and type correctly, whether you're on a call, writing on a whiteboard or sending a text. Random letters like x7Qk2Z aren't.

How long do links last?

You choose: 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. A link also stops working after its last allowed open (3, 6 or 10), whichever comes first. Then it's deleted.

Can I pick my own words?

Not right now. Words are picked at random from hand-chosen lists, which keeps links unpredictable and hard to guess.

Do link previews in chat apps use up opens?

No. When Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp and similar apps preview a link, it doesn't count as an open.

Is it safe?

We block look-alike domains, temporary hosting often used for scams, other link shorteners and direct program downloads, and you can't shorten a link to a raw IP address. Anyone can report a bad link, and links reported by several people are disabled automatically.
